December is now upon us, and the holidays are fast approaching. As we make plans for gifts, family gatherings and feasts, local governments are making preparations for spring elections. While the timing seems odd or inconvenient to some, local candidates began circulating nomination papers for spring elections on December 1st in Wisconsin and are due on January 5. Though it may seem daunting to try to get out to collect signatures during the holiday season, most local races don’t require a large number of signatures. Conservatives are needed to step up and run for local office to improve their communities.

Many of us follow politics and maybe even get involved in the election process, but all too often we neglect the local issues and races. That’s an unfortunate reality because local elections and decisions made at the local level are the ones we’re more likely to be personally impacted by in relation to our everyday lifestyle and our tax bill.

Wisconsin needs conservative leaders to rise up and take a stand where the rubber meets the road. This particular spring election cycle is a great opportunity for conservatives to run and win. The spring general election is the same day as the Presidential Preference on April 5. Since Hillary Clinton is likely to be the Democratic nominee and the Republicans have a hotly contested primary, the chance of elevated conservative turnout is high in Wisconsin. Smart campaigns will be able to capitalize on higher turnout and deliver their message to Presidential primary voters who don’t typically vote in local elections. Now is the time to capitalize on this opportunity!
